Granada (population 310.000), situated in the south of Spain in Andalusia, is one of the most beautiful monumental cities, including in its city-centre the most visited monument in Spain, the “Palace of the Alhambra”.
It dates back to the last Arabic reign in the West, whose influence remains all over the city. By visiting Granada you have the chance to experience and breathe the “real Spain” in every corner of the city.
You can enjoy the mountains of Sierra Nevada, situated just 40 kilometres away from the city, particularly for skiing from December to April. Alternatively you can visit the beach, situated 50 kilometres away, where the sun shines almost all year round, thus boasting its own tropical micro-climate.
Granada is a university city with a pleasant nightlife and an immense number of bars in the old part of the city where you will find a large variety of “tapas” offered free of charge.
Both younger and older people can find the atmosphere that suits them best, given the wide variety of cultural activities that the city offers all year round.
